- Take an active role in managing client relationships, including managing deadlines, handling day to day queries and establishing your role as a trusted contact.
- Assist with the review and preparation of the numerical aspects of claims and application of the rules to claim, for manager/ associate director review.
- Analyse cost data from clients using tools such as Excel to determine which costs can be included within a client's R&D claim and which cannot.
- Use and understand legislation, guidance issued by tax authorities and the firm's technical resources appropriately to aid in relevant area of work.
- Review and prepare formal reports to support the costings claim, for filing with HMRC, for assistant manager / manager review.
- Review and preparation of project technical summaries to illustrate the qualifying R&D activities undertaken by our clients, for manager/ associate director review.
- Regularly attend meetings; when appropriate, answering client queries. Takes meeting notes and proactively follows up on the agreed actions with the support of managers / associate directors.
- Get involved with business development and assist senior members of the team with opportunities to win work.
- Obtain feedback regularly and complete self-job appraisal on a timely basis
- Demonstrate a clear appetite for self-development through the appraisal and personal development plan processes. Reviews work afterwards for learning points.
- Notify managers and engagement leaders of any potential ethical breaches and instances of non-compliance with laws and regulations, making suggestions of how to address them
- Act with integrity and in line with our organisational values
- You'll have the opportunity to work closely with a wide variety of clients, taking responsibility for a number of tasks on behalf of the broader team and firm.

Must have attributes
- Experience in working on UK R&D Tax assignments. Good exposure and understanding of concepts of UK tax and international tax.
- Excellent written and spoken skills.
- A willingness and ability to work as part of a team
- Good knowledge of Word and Excel
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage working on a number of clients across our portfolio
