- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate detailed business requirements for Trade Finance digital initiatives (e.g., new online LC application, automated document checking via AI, blockchain-based trade solutions).
- Conduct in-depth current-state and future-state process mapping for core trade finance products (Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Supply Chain Finance, Documentary Collections).
- Perform gap analysis between existing systems/processes and target digital capabilities.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Relationship Managers, and Operations to understand client pain points, market trends, and regulatory changes impacting trade.
- Champion digital solutions by translating business requirements into clear user stories, functional specifications, and process flows for Agile development teams.
- Partner with UX/UI designers to create intuitive client-facing interfaces for digital trade platforms.
- Evaluate and provide recommendations on potential vendor solutions or fintech partnerships.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for digital features, focusing on STP (Straight-Through Processing) rates, turnaround time, and client adoption.
- Support the development of API specifications for trade services to enable client system integration.
Experience
- 5-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, within Commercial Banking, with at least 3-4 years focused on Trade Finance.
Domain Expertise:
- Must have hands-on knowledge of end-to-end trade finance instruments, processes, and systems (e.g., CGI Trade360, Finastra, FIS, or similar core trade platforms).
Digital & Agile Mindset:
- Proven experience working on digital projects (e.g., client portals, workflow automation, API integration). Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies (JIRA, Confluence).
Analytical Skills:
- Expertise in creating BRDs, FRDs, use cases, process maps (using BPMN/UML), and data flow diagrams.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications such as CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist), CITF, or CBAP are a significant plus.
