
Role Overview
The Assistant Manager - Accounts Receivable / Collections will be responsible for managing AR portfolios, driving timely collections, improving DSO, and supporting dispute resolution across clients. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and ownership of receivables performance metrics.
This role suits candidates who combine analytical depth with operational ownership and are ready to take responsibility for collections effectiveness and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor accounts receivable portfolios to ensure timely collections and optimal cash flow.
- Analyze customer payment behavior, identify high-risk accounts, and proactively mitigate delays.
- Utilize aging reports and DSO metrics to prioritize collections actions.
- Collaborate with collectors and client-facing teams where customer interaction is required.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Legal, and Credit teams to resolve billing disputes and ensure invoice accuracy.
- Support order release decisions by providing insights on customer creditworthiness and payment trends.
- Prepare and present regular collections performance reports and aging analyses.
- Research and resolve unapplied cash and payment discrepancies.
- Drive process improvements to enhance collections efficiency and control.
- Support month-end close activities and audits related to receivables.
- Assist in guiding and mentoring junior team members as required.
Eligibility & Experience
- 4-6 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, or Credit Management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Exposure to VBA or automation tools is an added advantage.
