This is an opportunity with one of our clients.

The company is a steel manufacturing organisation and is currently hiring for its integrated plant in Chhattisgarh.

Role Overview:

The AGM - Procurement role is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing procurement activities within the factory/plant, which includes upcoming projects.

This role requires developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective sourcing of materials and services.

Reporting to: Head - Procurement

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and ensure timely material availability.

- Lead and manage the procurement team.

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors, conducting thorough due diligence to ensure their capabilities, reliability, and adherence to quality standards.

- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, securing favorable terms, minimizing costs, and mitigating risks.

- Oversee the entire procurement process up to order placement, delivery, and invoice processing, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

- Monitor market trends and price fluctuations

- Manage and maintain accurate procurement records ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Collaborate with various plant and project managers and teams to understand their material and service requirements

- Implement and maintain SAP MM module

Required Skillset:

- Qualified Engineers may apply; prefrably from Mechanical or Electrical Field

- Extensive Steel industry experience

- Proven expertise in vendor management, including identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to secure favorable terms and build long-term relationships.

- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills

- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and best practices, including sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management.

- Hands-on experience with SAP MM module preferred
