Assistant General Manager - Warehouse & Logistics - FMCG

Job Description:

Our client is looking for an experienced AGM - Warehouse & Logistics to lead and manage end to-end warehouse and logistics operations in the FMCG sector.

The role involves optimizing supply chain processes, ensuring smooth inventory flow, managing distribution centers, controlling logistics costs, and maintaining service level agreements while adhering to compliance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations:

- Oversee day-to-day operations of warehouses and distribution centers

- Ensure accurate inventory management, storage, and dispatch of FMCG products

- Implement best practices for space utilization, stock accuracy, and cycle counts

- Monitor inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery

Logistics & Transportation:

- Manage primary and secondary transportation operations

- Optimize route planning and logistics costs

- Coordinate with transporters, 3PL partners, and vendors

- Ensure OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance

Supply Chain & Process Improvement:

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in warehousing and logistics

- Implement SOPs, automation, and WMS/ERP systems

- Reduce transit losses, damages, and pilferage

Team Management:

- Lead and develop warehouse and logistics teams

- Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and build high-performing teams

- Ensure proper manpower planning and productivity optimization

Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and quality standards

- Maintain hygiene and safety norms as per FMCG industry standards

- Handle audits and regulatory requirements

Cost & Budget Management:

- Prepare and manage logistics and warehousing budgets

- Control operational expenses and improve cost efficiency

- Analyze MIS reports and present performance reviews to management

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education:

- Graduate in any discipline (Mandatory)

- MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations (Preferred)

Experience:

- 10-15 years of relevant experience in Warehouse & Logistics

- Minimum 5+ years in a managerial or leadership role

- Strong experience in FMCG industry is mandatory

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of FMCG supply chain and distribution

- Expertise in warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics planning

- Experience with ERP / WMS systems

- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

- Analytical mindset with strong MIS and reporting skills
