About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer with a strong background in microsphere manufacturing or related microencapsulation technologies to lead our production operations. The ideal candidate will have hands on expertise in end to end microsphere processing, process optimization, Safety, equipment management, and GMP compliant operations within a chemical, polymer, or advanced materials environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complete microsphere manufacturing operations, ensuring consistent product quality, yield, and process efficiency.
- Develop and implement SOPs for all stages of the manufacturing process raw material handling, reaction, separation, drying, and packaging.
- Monitor, control, and document critical process parameters (CPPs) such as temperature, pressure, pH, solvent levels, and particle size distribution.
- Collaborate with R&D, QA, Engineering, and Tech Transfer teams for troubleshooting and continuous process improvement.
- Ensure strict compliance with GMP, USFDA, and internal quality / safety standards.
- Supervise and mentor production personnel; ensure optimal utilization of manpower and equipment.
- Drive process optimization initiatives to enhance throughput, reduce cost, and improve consistency and safety.
- Oversee manufacturing activities in an aseptic/controlled environment, ensuring adherence to cleanroom discipline and environmental norms.
Required Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 6 12 years of relevant experience in microsphere manufacturing or closely related fields such as microencapsulation technologies.
Preferred Skills / Desirable Experience:
- Exposure to hollow or solid microspheres (polymer, glass, ceramic, or synthetic).
- Ensure strict safety compliance, especially in processes involving critical and hazardous solvents; enforce safe handling, storage, and disposal practices as per regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with solvent-based processes, safety protocols, and risk assessments (HAZOP, FMEA, etc.).
- Knowledge of automation and control systems (DCS / PLC / SCADA).
- Experience with USFDA, EU audits, ISO/GMP systems, and regulatory documentation.
- Strong understanding of unit operations and equipment: reactors, mixers, homogenizers, dryers (spray, fluid-bed, vacuum), and classification/filtration systems.
- Hands-on experience in scale-up, process control, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-management capabilities.
