Job Title - AGM - Project Compliance

Department - Project & Delivery

Location - Mumbai & Chennai

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overview:

The AGM - Project Compliance will be responsible for ensuring end-to-end regulatory, statutory, and contractual compliance across project lifecycle (pre-construction, construction, and commissioning). The role will work closely with project, legal, EHS, and regulatory teams to ensure timely approvals, risk mitigation, and compliance adherence for all project sites.

MAIN ASSIGNMENTS:

Regulatory & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, approvals, and licenses for project development (central, state, and local regulations)

- Track and manage approvals including land, environmental, fire, electrical, factory, and building permits

- Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, local agencies and consultants for approvals and inspections

- Monitor changes in regulatory framework and assess impact on ongoing and upcoming projects

- Ensure tracking of notices received from any statutory authorities and timely submission of responses

Project Lifecycle Compliance:

- Oversee compliance requirements across:

- Design & planning phase

- Construction and execution phase

- Testing, commissioning, and operations handover

- Maintain compliance trackers and dashboards for all project sites

- Ensure timely renewals of permits and licenses

EHS & Labour Law Compliance:

Ensure compliance with:

- Labour laws (CLRA, BOCW, ISMW, etc.)

- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements

- Coordinate with EHS team for audits, inspections, and incident reporting

- Monitor contractor compliance with safety and labour obligations

Compliance Monitoring & Audits:

- Conduct periodic compliance audits across project sites

- Identify gaps and drive corrective and preventive actions

- Develop and implement compliance SOPs and frameworks

- Maintain documentation and audit readiness for internal and external reviews

- Coordinate with legal team, internal auditors, external auditors for audits

- Track and ensure closure of audit observations and non-compliances within timelines and implement corrective and preventive actions

- Ensure real-time tracking and ensure timely, accurate updation of compliance status in the online compliance monitoring system across all project sites by respective project teams.

DESIRED PROFILE:

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:

- Bachelor's degree in Law / Human Resources / Industrial Relations / Management

WORK EXPERIENCE (Minimum years of experience required):

- 12-15 years of relevant post-qualification experience in Construction / Infrastructure / Data Centre / Industrial project compliances and labour law compliances

- Strong hands-on experience in managing multi-location project compliance

- Experience in contractor compliance management

SKILLS (Technical aspects):

- Strong knowledge of construction & labour laws

- Expertise in compliance audits and statutory documentation

- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills

- High attention to detail and risk management mindset

- Ability to enforce compliance in a multi-contractor environment

- Strong reporting, dashboarding, and documentation skills

- Proactive, assertive, and solution-oriented approach
