Position: Assistant General Manager - Procurement (Steel/Mining/Metal/Heavy industries)

Overall/Total Experience: 15-20 years

Location: Gurugram

Working Days: 5 Days Working from Office

Notice Period Requirement: 30 Days (Maximum)

Education Requirement: B.Tech is mandatory for this role

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead strategic procurement and sourcing across materials, equipment and services.

- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business and project requirements.

- Identify, evaluate and manage vendors and strategic suppliers.

- Drive cost optimisation, negotiations and commercial excellence.

- Manage purchase contracts, commercial terms and supplier performance.

- Ensure timely procurement and availability of materials while maintaining quality and cost objectives.

- Build strong supplier relationships and develop alternate/backup sources.

- Monitor procurement budgets, savings and key procurement KPIs.

- Collaborate with Projects, Operations, Finance, Stores and Engineering teams to align procurement plans with business requirements.

- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, processes and governance standards.

- Lead and mentor the procurement team.

Candidate Requirements:

- Strong Procurement Leadership Profile from Steel / Mining / heavy-industry background.

- Must have 15+ years of overall procurement experience, with the recent 7+ years in Steel, Mining, Metals, or related heavy industries.

- Must have strong experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, negotiations, and cost reduction.

- Must have experience managing large-value procurement and complex supplier ecosystems.

- Must have experience managing purchase contracts, commercial terms, and supplier performance, and developing alternate/backup sources.

- Must have proven ability to lead and mentor procurement teams and drive measurable savings.

- Must have strong commercial, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally (Projects, Operations, Finance, Stores, Engineering).

- Must have experience monitoring procurement budgets, savings, and key procurement KPIs, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and governance.

- Must come from a Steel or Mining industry background (Metals / heavy industry acceptable).

- B.Tech Education is mandatory for this role.
