
Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned HR leader to serve as the Assistant General Manager - Plant HR & ER for our manufacturing facility in Jaipur. In this pivotal role, you will act as the strategic partner to the Plant Head, overseeing the entire spectrum of human resources and industrial relations for a large-scale consumer durable manufacturing unit. You will be responsible for fostering a harmonious work environment, ensuring seamless compliance with complex labour laws, and driving productivity through effective workforce management.
By bridging the gap between management and the shop-floor workforce, you will play a critical role in maintaining operational continuity, mitigating industrial risks, and upholding the company culture of excellence. You will collaborate closely with corporate leadership, local government bodies, and internal department heads to ensure the plant remains a benchmark for operational efficiency and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive Industrial Relations strategies to maintain a peaceful and productive shop-floor environment, minimizing disruptions and fostering positive union-management relations.
- Ensure 100% adherence to statutory HR compliance and labour laws, managing all audits and inspections to protect the organization from legal and regulatory risks.
- Oversee end-to-end grievance handling processes, resolving employee concerns promptly to maintain high morale and workforce stability.
- Manage complex contract labour operations, including vendor management and compliance, to ensure cost-effective and efficient workforce deployment.
- Direct the payroll and administration functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing while optimizing facility management services to support plant operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local government authorities and community stakeholders to facilitate smooth plant operations and brand reputation.
- Execute strategic workforce planning and talent deployment initiatives that align with the production targets and growth objectives of the consumer durable business.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale industrial relations and navigating complex labour law frameworks within a manufacturing setup.
- Proven ability to influence diverse stakeholders, ranging from shop-floor workers and union representatives to senior corporate leadership.
- Strong analytical capability to manage payroll, HR budgets, and workforce planning metrics with high precision.
- Exceptional crisis management and conflict resolution skills, with a track record of handling sensitive employee relations issues with maturity and discretion.
- Proficiency in managing government liaison activities and regulatory reporting, ensuring the organization remains in good standing with local authorities.
Education:
- Strong educational background, typically holding an MBA in HR or a Masters in Labour Welfare/Personnel Management from a premier institute.
- Ability to thrive in an on-site manufacturing environment, demonstrating high levels of adaptability and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
