Description:
1. Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
- Oversee monthly payroll processing for all entities (on-roll, off-roll, and expatriate employees) within defined SLAs.
- Ensure accuracy in computation of salaries, taxes, variable pay, and benefits.
- Validate input data from HRMS, attendance, and finance systems.
- Manage full and final settlements, reimbursements, and off-cycle payments.
Compliance & Statutory Filings:
- Ensure adherence to all statutory compliances PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, TDS, Gratuity, Bonus, etc.
- Coordinate with Finance/Tax teams for timely filing of returns and audits.
- Stay updated on labour and tax law changes impacting payroll.
Systems & Process Excellence:
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives for efficiency and error reduction.
- Ensure data integrity between HRMS, payroll, and finance systems (SAP/Oracle/Workday, etc.).
- Implement controls and validations to ensure 100% compliance and audit readiness.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the single point of contact for HR, Finance, and Business units on payroll-related matters.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors (payroll processor, statutory authorities, auditors).
- Manage escalations, employee queries, and ensure service delivery excellence.
People Leadership:
- Lead a team of payroll executives/officers; ensure skill development, performance, and motivation.
- Create a strong governance and review mechanism for payroll accuracy and timeliness.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- 100% accuracy and timeliness in payroll processing.
- Zero non-compliance or audit observations.
- Process improvement initiatives implemented (automation, TAT reduction).
- Stakeholder satisfaction score / reduction in employee payroll queries.
