Role Overview:
The AGM - Operations will be responsible for leading and managing end-to-end FMCG operations across multiple regions. This role involves managing a large distribution network, overseeing high-volume warehouse and logistics activities, ensuring on-time replenishment, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience handling large teams, and a proven track record in scaling FMCG operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day FMCG operations across multiple regions, ensuring smooth warehousing, distribution, and secondary logistics.
- Ensure efficient movement of goods, timely dispatches, stock availability, and route optimization.
- Establish, implement, and monitor SOPs to maintain service quality, OTIF, and operational accuracy.
- Coordinate with warehouses, distribution centers, transport partners, and field teams.
2. Distribution & Channel Network Management:
- Manage and support a large distributor and stockist network.
- Ensure compliance with operational guidelines, service standards, and performance metrics.
- Conduct regular audits, field visits, and performance reviews.
- Support onboarding, training, and capability development of channel partners.
3. Team Handling & Staff Management:
- Lead and manage large teams including warehouse staff, supervisors, sales coordination teams, and logistics personnel.
- Drive workforce planning, productivity improvement, and performance monitoring.
- Provide coaching, motivation, and skill-building to ensure operational excellence.
4. Business Growth & Execution:
- Drive operational strategies to support market expansion and volume growth.
- Identify new distribution opportunities, gaps, and process improvements.
- Work closely with senior leadership to achieve monthly and annual operational KPIs.
- Implement initiatives to improve service levels, fill rates, and market availability.
5. Field Operations & Market Visits:
- Conduct frequent field visits to warehouses, distributors, retailers, and route operations.
- Perform operational audits, infrastructure checks, and service quality reviews.
- Identify on-ground issues and drive timely corrective actions.
6. MIS, Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS on operations, service-level performance, inventory accuracy, and logistics KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement corrective measures to minimize losses, delays, or operational discrepancies.
Key Skills Required:
- Strong leadership and multi-team management skills
- Hands-on experience in FMCG logistics, distribution, and warehouse operations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work under pressure and handle high operational volumes
- Target-driven with strong business and operational acumen
- Willingness for extensive field travel
Qualifications:
- Any Graduate (MBA preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in FMCG operations
- Experience managing multi-region FMCG operations is highly preferred
