Job Title : AGM/ General Manager - Talent Acquisition


Location : Kolkata


About the Role :


We are looking for an experienced Lead - Talent Acquisition & Onboarding to lead the Talent Acquisition function for a rapidly growing solar manufacturing and renewable energy organisation with operations across multiple locations in India.


The role will be responsible for building and driving a scalable talent acquisition framework covering senior leadership hiring, lateral recruitment, high-volume campus hiring, engineering talent, and corporate/support functions. The incumbent will also lead the onboarding and induction framework to ensure a seamless joining experience and faster integration of new employees.


Key Responsibilities :


- Develop and execute the overall talent acquisition strategy in line with business growth and workforce requirements.


- Lead recruitment across corporate and manufacturing locations.


- Establish robust recruitment processes, SLAs, governance mechanisms and hiring metrics.


- Partner with business and functional leaders to understand manpower requirements and build effective hiring plans.


Talent Acquisition Strategy :


- Develop and execute the overall talent acquisition strategy in line with business growth and workforce requirements.


- Lead recruitment across corporate and manufacturing locations.


- Establish robust recruitment processes, SLAs, governance mechanisms and hiring metrics.


- Partner with business and functional leaders to understand manpower requirements and build effective hiring plans.


Leadership & Lateral Hiring :


- Drive senior and mid-to-senior level hiring across business and support functions.


- Manage end-to-end recruitment for leadership positions, including sourcing, assessment, compensation benchmarking and offer negotiations.


- Work with executive search firms and recruitment partners for critical and niche positions.


- Evaluate candidates transitioning from other industries and assess their suitability for the manufacturing/renewable energy environment.


Campus & High-Volume Hiring :


- Develop and execute large-scale campus recruitment programmes for engineering graduates and entry-level talent.


- Build relationships with engineering colleges and technical institutes.


- Drive campus engagement, employer branding, assessments, interviews and offer management.


- Establish efficient processes to manage high-volume recruitment without compromising quality.


- Plan and coordinate batch-wise joining and induction of graduate recruits at manufacturing locations.


Corporate & Support Function Hiring :


- Lead recruitment for functions such as Finance, HR, Procurement, Engineering and other corporate/support functions.


- Partner with functional heads to understand role requirements, competencies and selection criteria.


- Develop targeted sourcing strategies for specialist and niche positions.


Onboarding & Induction :


- Develop a structured and differentiated onboarding framework for senior hires, graduate engineers and corporate employees.


- Own the pre-joining engagement, joining experience, induction and early-stage integration process.


- Coordinate with Plant HR, IR and Learning & Development teams for functional and shop-floor induction.


- Monitor key onboarding metrics including offer-to-join ratio, early attrition, new-hire engagement and onboarding effectiveness.


- Ensure timely completion of documentation, background verification and joining formalities.


Team & Vendor Management :


- Lead and mentor the TA and onboarding team across corporate and plant locations.


- Manage recruitment agencies, executive search firms, RPO partners and campus placement relationships.


- Negotiate commercials, SLAs and service deliverables with external recruitment partners.


- Build a strong internal recruitment capability and continuously improve team productivity.


Technology, Analytics & Employer Branding :


- Drive effective utilisation of ATS, recruitment technology and hiring dashboards.


- Develop and monitor recruitment MIS covering hiring pipeline, TAT, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness and offer-to-joining conversion.


- Strengthen the organisation's employer brand across experienced and campus talent segments.


- Develop initiatives to enhance candidate experience and attract high-quality talent.


Key Success Metrics :


- Achievement of manpower and hiring targets across locations and functions.


- Reduction in time-to-fill and cost-per-hire.


- Quality of hire and hiring-manager satisfaction.


- Campus hiring volumes and offer-to-joining conversion.


- Reduction in early/probation-period attrition.


- Effectiveness and employee satisfaction with the onboarding process.


- Recruitment budget and vendor cost optimisation.


- Compliance and timely closure of joining formalities.


Candidate Profile :


- Postgraduate degree/MBA in Human Resources or a related discipline.


- 12+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.


- Strong experience in managing end-to-end recruitment across senior leadership, lateral, campus and high-volume hiring.


- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, infrastructure, engineering, renewable energy or similar sectors would be preferred.


- Proven experience in managing recruitment across multiple plants/sites and geographically distributed teams.


- Experience in building or scaling campus hiring and graduate recruitment programmes.


- Strong exposure to onboarding and induction programmes, particularly for large employee cohorts.


- Familiarity with ATS, recruitment analytics, MIS and hiring dashboards.


- Strong stakeholder management experience with CXO/Business Heads, Plant Heads and Functional Leaders.
