Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager Cum Engineering Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of capital projects Within food / consumer health manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will have over 15 -18 years' experience with 10 + years' experience in project management (Green Field & Brown Field) with a degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

This role requires expertise in full lifecycle project management, cost control, scheduling and Construction safety.

The candidate will be responsible for Operations and Maintenance of this plant post project completion phase with additional responsibility to lead the Buffalo meat manufacturing plant.

Primary responsibilities

- Project Delivery: Manage and deliver capital projects safely, on budget, and according to schedule.

- Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, execute them, and track progress through all design phases from inception to handover.

- Quality and Standards: Ensure all key deliverables meet agreed timelines and adhere to quality and engineering standards.

- Stakeholder Communication: Propose and effectively communicate options and updates to management and stakeholders.

- Objective Setting: Establish and align project objectives with requirements, ensuring that goals and timelines are achieved.

- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement robust plans and strategies for effective project lifecycle management.

- Issue Management: Identify project issues, communicate them to the team, and coordinate with the right skill sets to find timely and budget-conscious solutions.

- Team Leadership: Provide direction and vision to the project team, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and skillset application.

- Communication: Foster effective communication between the project team and stakeholders.

- Reporting: Report on project status, including schedule and cost issues, in accordance with established communication protocols.

- Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to applicable practices, policies, and specifications.

- Quality Control: Perform overall quality control of work, including budget, schedule, plans, and team performance.

- Operations and Maintenance: The role may transition into operations and maintenance of existing facility and post-project completion, requiring a good understanding of operations, maintenance, energy-saving practices, and refrigeration. Cold storage experience is a significant advantage.

- Oversees the development and executes against a strategic plan and annual investment plans (OpEx and CapEx plans). This includes; efficient Utility Operation, Good Maintenance Practices/Programs, Mechanization & automation for lean structure and technology improvements; expansions.

- To provide technical leadership in the area of engineering practices, identify & implement new technologies for improving productivity & energy efficiency, guide in setting systems for project activities, lead the team for implementation of engineering excellence practices.

- Establishing systems for condition monitoring, predictive & preventative maintenance Establishing systems for trouble shooting failures & failure analysis. Providing technical resolution to overcome issues during equipment installation. Commissioning of compressors and pumps in a controlled manner along with OEM personnel

People Management

- Take overall responsibility for people development initiatives and building up in-house capabilities for the employees in the department

- Drive a performance driven culture in the team by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members

- Contribute towards development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles

- Actively participate in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical).

- Experience: Over 15 - 18 years' experience with 10+ years' experience in project management (Green Field & Brown Field) with a proven track record in capital project delivery. Experience in cold storage, food, or consumer health products manufacturing is highly desirable.

- Industry Experience: Chicken processing plants , Food, Consumer Health project experience preferred; experience in cold storage or related fields advantageous.
