The role is responsible for driving a strategic, cost-effective, and efficient procurement, commercial, and logistics function across all manufacturing and project locations. The objective is to secure materials and services at the most competitive prices while maintaining the highest standards of quality, reliability, and compliance. This position ensures uninterrupted availability of direct materials, optimal inventory management, and strong supplier partnerships that support business profitability and operational excellence.

The incumbent will develop and implement a robust procurement strategy that enables sourcing of materials at the right price, right quality, and with the shortest possible lead times. The role also focuses on expanding the supplier base, reducing dependency on limited sources, creating a competitive supply environment, and driving continuous improvement in cost, delivery, and service levels.

Strategic Procurement & Cost Management:


- Drive a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with business needs, ensuring the sourcing of materials at optimal cost and quality.


- Negotiate effectively to secure the most competitive pricing, contributing directly to improved profitability.

- Continuously explore new commercial opportunities, alternative suppliers, and cost-saving initiatives to reduce material cost and enhance margin performance.

Material Availability & Inventory Control:

- Ensure uninterrupted availability of direct materials across all manufacturing and project locations, preventing production delays or shutdowns.

- Optimize inventory levels by balancing cost efficiency with operational requirements, maintaining the lowest viable lead times without compromising production schedules.

- Implement demand forecasting, planning tools, and replenishment systems to reduce excess inventory and improve supply reliability.

Supplier Management & Development:

- Establish a structured process for supplier selection, qualification, evaluation, and performance monitoring.

- Develop and nurture long-term, mutually beneficial supplier relationships to secure cost, quality, and delivery advantages.

- Expand the supplier base to reduce dependency on limited vendors and enhance sourcing competitiveness.

- Conduct periodic supplier audits and capability assessments to ensure adherence to technical, quality, and commercial standards.

Quality Compliance & Assurance:

- Ensure sourced materials meet or exceed the required quality standards, coordinating closely with Quality, Projects, and Manufacturing teams.

- Work proactively with suppliers to address quality deviations, initiate corrective actions, and promote continuous improvement.

Commercial Governance & Process Excellence:

- Strengthen procurement governance by implementing transparent processes, contract management systems, and data-driven decision-making frameworks.

- Lead initiatives that improve procurement efficiency, reduce cycle time, enhance compliance, and drive digitization/automation where feasible.
- Ensure adherence to statutory, commercial, and environmental regulations associated with procurement and logistics activities.

Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination:

- Oversee inbound logistics, ensuring timely and cost-efficient movement of materials while optimizing freight, transportation, and warehousing costs.

- Improve logistics planning to reduce delays, bottlenecks, and overall supply chain risk.
