
Role Overview:
As the AGM/DGM - Indirect Taxation, you will be the driving force behind managing and optimizing the company's indirect tax obligations. Your day-to-day will involve overseeing GST compliance, managing audits, and ensuring adherence to all relevant tax regulations. You will collaborate closely with the Finance and Accounts team, statutory auditors, and various internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and minimize tax liabilities. This role is crucial for maintaining the company's financial health, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to strategic decision-making related to taxation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of accurate and timely GST returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, to avoid penalties and maintain a clean compliance record.
- Manage and coordinate indirect tax audits, including statutory audits, by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors, to ensure smooth audit processes and favorable outcomes.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize indirect tax liabilities, working closely with the Finance and Accounts team, to optimize the company's tax position and improve profitability.
- Monitor changes in indirect tax laws and regulations, communicating updates to relevant stakeholders, to ensure the company remains compliant and adapts to evolving legal requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams on indirect tax matters, resolving complex tax issues, to ensure consistent application of tax principles and minimize errors.
- Represent the company in interactions with tax authorities, handling assessments and appeals, to protect the company's interests and resolve tax disputes effectively.
- Conduct regular reviews of indirect tax processes and controls, identifying areas for improvement, to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax reporting.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and training, to build a strong and capable tax function within the organization.
Required Skillset:
- Min 13 Years experience with CA full time from any industries
- Demonstrated expertise in Indirect Taxation, specifically GST, with a strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate tax audits, including statutory audits, with experience in interacting with tax authorities and resolving tax disputes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations and apply them to specific business situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate tax concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of tax professionals.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Adaptability to work on-site in Bhopal.
