AGM / DGM Insurance (Corporate Insurance Specialist)


Role Purpose:

To ensure comprehensive risk coverage, optimal policy structuring, accurate asset valuation, and timely claims settlement while minimizing premium outgo and avoiding over/under insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

Insurance Coverage & Policy Management:

- Ensure 100% coverage of all assets, liabilities, and operational risks (plant, township, mines, logistics).

- Guide CPC Head Office on underwriting and negotiation; add value to policy structuring.

- Track renewals, eliminate duplication, and close coverage gaps.

Asset Grouping & Valuation:

- Review Fixed Asset Register (FAR) and classify assets into insurable categories.

- Ensure proper valuation, reinstatement costing, and alignment with insurance policies.

Risk Assessment & Optimization:

- Conduct plant visits and risk surveys to identify exposures (fire, breakdown, BI, transit).

- Recommend appropriate covers, riders, and premium optimization strategies.

- Ensure no over- insurance or under- insurance.

Claims Management:

- Drive timely claim filing, documentation, and settlement with minimal rejection.

- Liaise with insurers, brokers, surveyors, and internal teams for efficient closure.

Governance & Compliance:

- Establish SOPs for policy management, asset mapping, and claims governance.

- Maintain MIS, dashboards, and audit readiness.

Stakeholder Management:

- Build strong relationships with insurers, brokers, and surveyors for better terms and faster settlements.

- Support capital projects with CPM/EAR policies and seamless transition to operational insurance.

Candidate Profile:

Education & Experience: Chartered Accountant / MBA (Finance) / Insurance Specialist with 12-15 years of experience in insurance management for large corporates, preferably in Steel, Mining, Power, Cement, or Heavy Manufacturing. Professional certifications such as III, ACII, or Risk Management are an added advantage.

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Industrial All Risk (IAR/MEGA), CPM/EAR, Marine, Liability, and Business Interruption policies; expertise in asset valuation, reinstatement costing, and Fixed Asset Register (FAR) structuring.

Claims Handling: Proven track record in managing and settling large claims (>- 50 Cr).

Skills & Attributes: Smart, self- starter with strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Leadership: Demonstrated team leadership experience, managing small teams effectively.
