Assistant General Manager/Deputy General Manager - Component Costing & New Product Development - Vehicles

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Costing Lead to establish and drive the complete costing function for electric trucks and buses. The role involves product costing, BOM analysis, cost optimization, and New Product Development (NPD) costing, supporting strategic decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end product costing activities including zero-based costing, transfer pricing, and value engineering.

- Perform Should Costing, Target Costing, Value Analysis, and Cost Variation analysis.

- Support NPD (New Product Development) by providing early-stage cost estimation, design-to-cost inputs, and feasibility analysis.

- Develop and maintain accurate cost structures for all components and assemblies.

- Drive cost optimization initiatives across sourcing, design, and manufacturing stages.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and R&D.

- Ensure adherence to internal costing standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

- Work on key automotive commodities such as Sheet Metal, Electrical, Proprietary parts, Interior & Exterior components.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong expertise in Product Costing, Should Costing, Target Costing, and Value Engineering.

- Hands-on experience in NPD costing and design-to-cost methodologies.

- Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes.

- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence decisions.

- Strategic thinking with strong execution capability.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree/Diploma in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or equivalent.

- 12+ years of experience in Cost Management, Product Costing, or related field.

- Experience in automotive / Automobile (OEM) or electric vehicle industry preferred.
