
Role Overview
The Assistant General Manager (CSR) will play a strategic and operational management role in planning, executing, and scaling company's CSR programs in alignment with the company's sustainability goals and CSR Policy. The incumbent will drive impact-oriented initiatives across key focus areas such as education, environment, health, livelihood, and community development, ensuring strong governance, partnerships, and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Program Design
- Develop and implement CSR strategy in line with company's sustainability framework and business objectives.
- Identify thematic priorities, assess community needs, and design high-impact CSR interventions.
- Formulate annual CSR plans and budgets aligned with the CSR Policy and Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013.
Program Execution & Impact
- Lead implementation of CSR projects through in-house teams, and implementing partners including NGOs.
- Ensure robust monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment frameworks for all CSR initiatives.
- Introduce innovation, scalability, and sustainability in CSR programs-leveraging technology and partnerships.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and manage relationships with NGOs, implementation partners, government bodies, and local communities.
- Engage cross-functional teams, plant operations, and leadership to embed CSR thinking across the organization.
- Represent company in external forums, conferences, and industry collaborations on CSR and sustainability.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all statutory requirements under the Companies Act and CSR Rules.
- Oversee preparation of CSR reports, Board submissions, and disclosures for the Annual Report.
- Maintain documentation, due diligence, and audit readiness of all CSR initiatives.
Communication & Thought Leadership
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to highlight CSR impact stories.
- Contribute to company's positioning as a thought leader in corporate citizenship and community resilience.
Desired Profile
Education:
- Postgraduate from a Tier 1 institute in Social Work, Development Studies, Sustainability, or related disciplines from a reputed institution.
Experience:
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in CSR, social development, or sustainability programs.
- Proven track record in strategy formulation, on-ground implementation, and impact measurement of CSR initiatives.
- Experience in managing large budgets, multi-location projects, and partnerships with NGOs and multilateral agencies.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of CSR regulations, ESG linkages, and SDG frameworks.
- Excellent program management, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic mindset with an ability to translate social objectives into actionable programs.
- Strong communication and reporting abilities.
- Passion for sustainability, inclusion, and community development.
