Job Description:
The Assistant General Manager Banking & Treasury will be responsible for managing the banking relationships, treasury operations, cash flow, debt management, and financial risk functions for the Hotels Division. The incumbent will ensure optimum utilization of funds, efficient working capital management, timely debt servicing, and compliance with banking and regulatory requirements while supporting the financial requirements of hotel operations and upcoming hospitality projects across India.
The role requires extensive experience in treasury management, banking operations, project finance, fund mobilization, cash forecasting, and stakeholder management within the hospitality, real estate, infrastructure, or large corporate sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Banking & Treasury Management:
- Develop and execute treasury strategies to support business growth and liquidity requirements.
- Manage daily treasury operations, including cash positioning, fund transfers, investments, and banking transactions.
- Ensure adequate liquidity for hotel operations and ongoing development projects.
- Optimize utilization of banking facilities and working capital.
Banking Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, NBFCs, and lenders.
- Negotiate banking facilities, interest rates, charges, guarantees, and credit terms.
- Manage banking documentation, account operations, and periodic renewals.
- Coordinate with banks for project financing, term loans, overdraft facilities, and working capital limits.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:
- Prepare short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor daily cash balances and liquidity across multiple hotel properties.
- Optimize receivables, payables, and fund deployment.
- Ensure timely availability of funds for vendor payments, payroll, statutory obligations, and capital expenditure.
Project Finance:
- Support financing requirements for new hotel developments, renovations, and expansion projects.
- Coordinate with project teams and lenders for debt drawdowns and fund utilization.
- Monitor project funding schedules and compliance with lender covenants.
- Assist in evaluating financing options for capital-intensive projects.
Debt & Loan Management:
- Monitor debt portfolio, loan repayments, and interest servicing.
- Ensure compliance with loan agreements and financial covenants.
- Coordinate documentation for refinancing and restructuring initiatives when required.
Financial Risk Management:
- Monitor liquidity, interest rate, and foreign exchange risks (where applicable).
- Recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure treasury operations comply with internal controls and governance standards.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines, banking regulations, and corporate treasury policies.
- Prepare treasury MIS, cash flow reports, lender reports, and management dashboards.
- Support statutory audits, internal audits, and lender audits.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with the following departments:

5. Taxation

7. External Auditors
8. Banks & Financial Institutions
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor treasury and banking teams.
- Develop SOPs for banking operations, treasury controls, and fund management.
- Drive process improvements through automation and technology adoption.
Educational Qualification:
- Chartered Accountant Mandatory.
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Economics.
- Additional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, CTP, or Treasury certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 16-20 years of experience in Banking, Treasury, Corporate Finance, or Project Finance.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role handling treasury and banking operations.
- Experience in hospitality, real estate, infrastructure, aviation, or large corporate organizations.
- Exposure to multi-location operations and capital-intensive projects is preferred.
