Assistant General Manager/Associate Director - Environment/Health & Safety

AGM/AD Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

Description:

- The role reports to the Head EHS India and requires close coordination with operations teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.

- The key focus areas include implementing EHS policies, controlling high-risk activities (heavy lifting, excavation, hot works, working at heights, confined space, electrical installations, etc.), conducting trainings, identifying hazards, and driving a proactive safety culture aimed at Goal Zero.

- The role also oversees EHS planning, incident prevention initiatives, audits, risk assessments, data analysis, fit-out safety management, and continuous contractor performance evaluation.

- The position requires leading and mentoring the regional EHS team, supporting accident investigations, reviewing method statements/permits to work, and maintaining strong stakeholder engagement.

- Candidates must demonstrate extensive experience in large infrastructure projects, strong regulatory knowledge (BOCW and related laws), and familiarity with ISO 14001/45001 and OH&S standards.

Desired Profile:

- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Environmental/Civil/Mechanical/Safety Engineering + NEBOSH (mandatory).

- Experience: 18+ years in EHS for large infrastructure projects; experience managing 35 EHS officers; expertise in high-risk construction activities and fit-outs.

- Skills: Strong communication, stakeholder management, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and leadership abilities.
