Position Summary:

An experienced and driven Assistant Controller to join our Finance & Accounting team, supporting our US operations. This is a critical internal role to strengthen compliance with US GAAP, enhance financial reporting accuracy, and scale our accounting operations as we grow. This individual will work closely with the Corporate Controller, external auditors, and cross-functional teams.

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for managing core accounting processes for the US entity, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, supporting audits, revenue recognition, billing operations, and systems improvements. This role is well-suited for someone with technical accounting expertise and hands-on experience in software product company finance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own and execute the monthly close process for the US entity, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with US GAAP.

- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for all key accounts.

- Support revenue recognition with focus on project accounting in compliance with ASC 606; ensure appropriate booking and deferred revenue entries.

- Oversee billing and collections process.

- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules for auditors.

- Manage accounts payable and ensure payments are processed in accordance with supplier agreements and treasury policies.

- Coordinate with HR and payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll accounting and related compensation accruals.

- Support tax compliance by coordinating with external tax advisors for filings, projections, and returns related to US federal and state requirements.

- Assist in implementing and improving financial systems and internal controls for scalable growth.

- Work with the Controller to prepare monthly reporting packages, flux analyses, and assist with forecasting inputs.

Required Qualifications

- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) is required.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including minimum 2 years in a software product company or public accounting firm.

- Good understanding of US GAAP, including ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 340.

- Experience with NetSuite.

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Strong Excel skills and experience with reporting tools.

- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

- Clear and effective communication and documentation.
