JD - Assistant Brand Manager - Marketing

Role Summary:
As an Assistant Brand Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving brand growth, market share, and profitability. Working closely with the Brand Manager and Category Lead, you will support the end-to-end management of assigned brand categories - from strategic planning and tactical execution to cross-functional alignment and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Annual Planning:
- Annual Marketing Plan: Assist in formulating the national Annual Marketing Plan and Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy, aligning with overarching category guidelines and corporate goals.
- Tactical Execution: Develop reactive and tactical brand strategies and communications to enhance brand salience, awareness, and imagery.
- Market Share Growth: Focus continuously on increasing the brand's value and volume market share across key channels.
2. Operations, Performance & Budget Management:
- Daily Operations: Manage day-to-day brand operations, including monthly and quarterly performance monitoring to drive sales and improve Gross Margins.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor and manage marketing expenditures to optimize spending and ensure efficient brand budget management.
- Pricing & Profitability: Support the evaluation of market, consumer, and competitive data to establish robust pricing strategies, especially for new product launches.
3. Innovation, Campaigns & Cross-Functional Execution:
- Marketing Mix: Contribute to innovation, activation, Above-the-Line (ATL), and Below-the-Line (BTL) advertising efforts for assigned projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, supply chain, trade marketing, and finance teams to execute marketing plans and monitor supporting initiatives.
- Product Innovation: Aid in innovating existing products and processes while helping develop new, profitable SKUs and categories aligned with portfolio goals.
4. New Product Development (NPD) & Launch Management:
- Launch Execution & Go-To-Market Support: Participate in launch management by creating launch plans, facilitating customer sell-ins, conducting regular market visits, and addressing legal and regulatory issues.
- Collaborate with Brand Manager/Category Lead to oversee the assessment and execution of new product launches for the brand in the local market, including aspects such as positioning, pricing, placement, and prepositioning.
- Focus on increasing the brand's value and volume market share. Oversee the assessment and local execution of new product launches, covering positioning, pricing, placement, and pre-positioning.
5. Consumer & Competitive Insights:
- Data Analysis: Assist in conducting consumer analysis, category, channel, and competitive data to assess brand performance and identify growth opportunities.
- Growth Opportunities: Support Brand Manager/Category Lead in market evaluation, consumer, and competitive data to establish pricing strategies and approaches for new product launches.
- Review and analyze trends across the brand, competition, category, and consumer behaviour to enhance brand equity and improve market performance.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: MBA / Post-Graduate degree in Marketing or Business Administration from a premier institute.
- Experience: 2 - 4 years of brand management or marketing experience within the FMCG or consumer goods sector.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in consumer research and market data (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar).
- Demonstrated project management skills with cross-functional leadership capability.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Financial acumen with a solid understanding of P&L, Gross Margins, and budget tracking.
Important Notes for Finding the Right candidate:
- Candidates from FMCG preferred - with premium category products.
- Exposure in Digital Performance Marketing, Digital Commerce, Digital Growth.
- Experience in Handling GTM Plan, Annual Marketing Plan and solution-oriented mindset.
- Open to assess candidates with a background in Beauty Care / Cosmetics.
