Ashish Life Science - Deputy Manager - Purchase

Candidates will be based at the Corporate Office of a reputed Pharma company in Mumbai and will play a key role in managing procurement operations for Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, and Excipients required for R&D Formulation. The role demands strong coordination with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Project teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability and adherence to technical standards. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong commercial acumen, understanding of material specifications, and experience in global sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify, develop, and manage vendors domestically and internationally, ensuring reliable supply and compliance with quality standards.

- Conduct supplier evaluations based on quality, cost, delivery timelines, technical capability, and regulatory compliance.

- Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and contracts while driving cost optimization and value improvements.

- Ensure timely delivery of materials by monitoring purchase orders, tracking lead times, and coordinating closely with R&D and project teams.

- Review and understand technical specifications, COAs, MSDS, and other material parameters to ensure correct procurement decisions.

- Explore new suppliers globally to strengthen the sourcing network and support new formulation requirements.

- Maintain vendor performance metrics and handle supplier communication for escalations, clarifications, and commercial issues.

- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company purchase policies, audit requirements, and documentation standards.

- Support continuous improvement in procurement processes and contribute to building a strong, compliant supply chain for R&D needs.
