Position Title : Deputy General Manager (DGM)

Business Unit : Project Engineering

Reports To ED

Position Summary:


To lead the design function for warehouse automation systems by driving technology strategy, standardization, innovation, and execution excellence. The role is accountable for delivering scalable, cost-effective, and high performance engineering solutions aligned with business growth, while building organizational capability and ensuring cross-functional integration across projects.

Key Responsibilities:


- Define and drive technology roadmap for warehouse automation systems and lead adoption of next-gen solutions including ASRS, robotics integration, and high-speed sortation, while establishing modular and scalable design architecture


- Ensure first-time-right engineering outputs, drive design standardization and reuse, and establish design review frameworks, quality gates, and best practices in DFM, DFA, and reliability engineering

- Oversee end-to-end design lifecycle, ensure alignment across mechanical, controls, structural, and software teams, and drive on-time design release and project readiness


- Lead cost optimization initiatives, improve proposal accuracy and competitiveness, and drive value engineering without compromising performance


- Ensure designs meet throughput targets and system efficiency benchmarks, and enable simulation-driven design validation


- Build and lead high-performance engineering teams, drive skill development, leadership pipeline, and retention strategies


- Establish systems for design libraries, lessons learned, and standard modules, and drive adoption of PLM and digital engineering practices


- Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, and Projects for concept, costing, DFM, and execution, and act as technical anchor for key customers


- Drive product improvements and continuous innovation while maintaining standardization as a core engineering principle
