Job Title: Area Sales Manager Personal Care/Cosmetics

Job Summary:

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and managing sales operations within a designated territory for personal care and cosmetics products. This role requires a strategic sales leader who can develop and execute sales plans, lead a sales team, build strong customer relationships, and achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve territory sales targets.

- Recruit, train, and manage frontline sales teams such as Territory Sales Incharges.

- Drive primary and secondary sales across the assigned territory.

- Increase product distribution and market penetration within the territory.

- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports, and track performance against targets.

- Build and nurture strong relationships with existing distributors, retailers, and key customers.

- Take initiatives to improve sales productivity and team performance.

- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.

- Collaborate closely with marketing, supply chain, and product teams for effective execution of promotional campaigns and product availability.

- Ensure adherence to company policies, credit norms, and operational guidelines.

- Manage day-to-day operations and resolve any issues affecting sales performance.

- Recruit and manage frontline sales personnel such as Territory Sales Incharges.

- Take ownership of day-to-day operational activities within the territory.

- Drive and increase product distribution and market penetration.

- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and ensure achievement of set sales targets for the territory.

- Take initiatives to improve productivity and increase sales volumes.

- Manage both primary and secondary sales efficiently.

- Build, maintain, and nurture relationships with key customers and distributors.

Qualifications & Skills:

MBA/PGDM from a B-school with

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience selling FMCG products, preferably in non-food categories.

- Strong knowledge of the assigned territory.

- Proficient in English and the local language.

- Computer savvy with good command over relevant tools.

- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

- Proactive go-getter attitude with a strong hunger for growth and achievement.

Key Competencies:

- Strong sales orientation and ability to work in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

- Ability to analyze sales data and translate insights into actionable plans.

- Team leadership and people management capabilities.
