Area Sales Manager - Modern Trade - FMCG

Total Experience: 8 - 15 years

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive sales growth and achieve primary and secondary sales targets for the assigned territory.

- Manage relationships with National and Regional Modern Trade accounts.

- Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key customers.

- Negotiate commercial terms, promotions, visibility initiatives, and annual business plans.

- Ensure superior in-store execution, product availability, merchandising, and planogram compliance.

- Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer performance to identify growth opportunities.

- Coordinate with distributors to ensure efficient stock availability and order fulfillment.

- Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Category teams for seamless execution.

- Monitor competition, pricing, and promotional activities to recommend appropriate business actions.

- Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts, and business reviews.

Qualifications:

- Graduate in any discipline; MBA preferred.

- 4 - 8 years of sales experience in the FMCG industry with significant exposure to Modern Trade.

- Experience in managing key accounts such as Reliance Retail, D-Mart, Lulu, More Retail, Spencer's, Metro, and other regional chains is preferred.

- Strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.

- Proficiency in MS Excel and sales reporting tools.

- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
