Area Sales Manager - Nigeria

Role Overview:

As an Area Sales Manager, you will be the driving force behind our sales growth within a designated territory in Nigeria. Your day-to-day will involve leading a team of sales representatives, developing and executing sales strategies, building strong relationships with distributors and retailers, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. You will collaborate closely with the marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to optimize sales performance and market penetration. Ultimately, your efforts will directly impact our brand presence, market share, and revenue growth within the Nigerian market.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans within the assigned territory to achieve or exceed sales targets, focusing on General Trade channels.

- Manage and motivate a team of sales representatives, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance their skills and productivity.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors and retailers, ensuring optimal product availability, visibility, and promotion.

- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including pricing, promotions, and credit terms.

- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective trade marketing programs and promotions to drive sales and brand awareness.

- Manage the sales budget for the assigned territory, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies within the FMCG or FMCD sector, specifically in General Trade.

- Proven leadership skills with the capacity to motivate, coach, and manage a team of sales representatives to achieve ambitious targets.

- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills to effectively interact with distributors, retailers, and internal stakeholders.

- Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

- In-depth understanding of the Nigerian retail landscape, including distribution channels, pricing strategies, and competitive dynamics.

- MBA Graduate

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
