The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving sales, expanding market presence, and managing channel partners across the Mumbai region. The ideal candidate must come with solid experience in the stationery industry and demonstrate strong leadership, market understanding, and execution capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the Mumbai territory.
- Drive primary and secondary sales through effective planning and execution.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand coverage across retail, wholesale, modern trade, and institutional channels.
- Manage and grow distributor and retailer networks in Mumbai.
- Ensure optimal product availability, visibility, and placement across channels.
- Monitor distributor performance and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Sales Executives/Sales Officers.
- Conduct regular coaching, field visits, and performance reviews.
- Ensure high levels of productivity and effective execution at the ground level.
- Analyze competitor activities, pricing, schemes, and market trends.
- Share actionable insights with management for strategic planning.
- Implement trade promotions, schemes, and product launches effectively.
- Monitor sales reports, forecast demand, and ensure timely replenishment.
- Manage budgets, claims, and trade schemes efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all company processes and reporting requirements.
Candidate Requirements:
Mandatory Criteria:
- Experience in the stationery industry is essential.
- Strong knowledge of stationery products, retail dynamics, distributor management, and market landscape of Mumbai.
Educational Qualification:
- MBA is highly preferred (Sales/Marketing specialization ideal).
- Strong academic foundation with solid business understanding.
Skill Set & Competencies:

- Proven experience in territory management and business development.
