1. Sales Responsibilities:
Territory Management:
- Develop and implement sales strategies for the assigned area.
- Define and monitor sales targets, quotas, and performance for distributors, dealers, and sales reps.
- Expand market presence by identifying new dealers, contractors, and OEMs.
Client Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Electrical contractors
- Builders/developers
- Government departments (if applicable)
Industrial clients (factories, OEMs, EPCs)
- Handle key accounts and maintain CRM data.
- Revenue & Target Achievement
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Monitor channel-wise and product-wise performance.
- Handle high-volume negotiations and deal closures.
Sales Forecasting & Planning:
- Prepare rolling sales forecasts based on market trends and historical data.
- Align with production and logistics for timely delivery and stock availability.
2. Marketing Responsibilities:
- Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor pricing, product launches, and promotional activities.
- Collect and report market trends, customer feedback, and emerging needs.
Promotions & Campaigns:
- Planned and executed local marketing campaigns, trade shows, and electrician meets.
- Promote new products or upgrades in the territory.
- Distribute marketing materials and manage branding in the area.
Product Positioning:
- Educate customers and dealers about the brand's unique selling points (USPs).
- Support introducing new cable types, insulation technologies, or energy-efficient options.
3. Channel & Distribution Management
- Distributor/Dealer Network Development
- Appoint and train distributors and dealers.
- Monitor distributor stock levels and credit limits.
- Ensure timely payments and resolve disputes if any.
Channel Sales Support:
- Provide pricing, schemes, and incentive plans.
- Ensure POS material availability and visibility.
4. Technical Knowledge & Support
Product Expertise:
- Have a solid understanding of cable types (LT, HT, Instrumentation, Control Cables, etc.).
- Assist clients in selecting the right cable based on the application.
After-Sales Support:
- Coordinate with the technical or service team to resolve quality or installation issues.
5. Reporting & Coordination:
- Internal Coordination
- Liaise with production, dispatch, and accounts teams.
- Share regular reports with the Regional or Zonal Sales Manager.
- Documentation & MIS
- Maintain records of sales, collections, and performance dashboards.
- Use CRM tools or ERP systems for data reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or MBA in Marketing.
- Experience: 7-15 years in industrial sales, preferably in cables or electrical products.
Skills:
- Strong communication and negotiation
- Technical understanding of cables
- Team leadership and distributor management
- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory
