Role Overview:
As the Area Head for Equity Broking in Chennai, you will spearhead the regional growth strategy, overseeing the performance and expansion of the equity sales operations. You will act as the primary leader for the Chennai market, managing high-performing sales teams and cultivating relationships with HNI and institutional clients. This role is pivotal in driving revenue targets, ensuring market penetration, and maintaining the highest standards of service delivery. You will work closely with regional leadership and internal stakeholders to align sales initiatives with broader business objectives, directly influencing the firm market share and profitability in the southern region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute regional sales strategies to achieve aggressive revenue targets and expand the active client base within the Chennai market.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales managers and relationship managers to ensure consistent performance and professional development.
- Oversee the end-to-end sales lifecycle, ensuring high-quality acquisition and retention of HNI and corporate clients.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and adjust sales tactics accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal product and research teams to provide clients with value-added insights and tailored investment solutions.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory compliance and internal risk management policies across all sales activities.
- Manage regional P&L responsibilities, optimizing operational costs while maximizing return on investment for the branch.

- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale equity broking operations with a proven track record of scaling revenue in competitive markets.
- Exceptional leadership abilities, with a history of building, coaching, and retaining high-performing sales teams.
- Deep understanding of equity markets, financial products, and the regulatory landscape governing the Indian broking industry.

- A minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in equity sales and team management within the financial services sector.
