Role: Area Collection Manager
Location: Ahmedabad

As an Area Collection Manager, you will lead and manage the collections operations for your designated region. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing collection agents, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding payments, resolving customer issues, monitoring performance metrics, and developing strategies to reduce delinquencies. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial health and regulatory compliance within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of field collection agents across assigned locations.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly collection targets and ensure timely recovery of dues.
- Analyze collection trends and implement data-driven strategies to improve recovery rates.
- Handle escalated customer queries and disputes related to overdue payments in a professional manner.
- Conduct field visits as required to manage high-value or delinquent accounts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date collection records and prepare regular reports for senior management.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, RBI guidelines, and legal norms in all collection activities.
- Coordinate with legal, risk, and credit teams to handle chronic defaulters and initiate recovery actions.
- Train, mentor, and motivate the collection team to maintain high performance and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in collections or recovery management, preferably within the NBFC, Banking, FinTech, or Microfinance sector.
- Proven experience in managing field collection teams across multiple locations.
- Strong knowledge of soft collections, hard collections, skip tracing, and legal recovery procedures.
- Solid understanding of loan delinquency metrics (DPD, NPA, PAR, etc.) and recovery KPIs.
- Experience handling retail loans (personal loan, two-wheeler loan, business loan, gold loan, etc.) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks applicable to collections under RBI guidelines.
- Proficient in using collection software, CRM tools, and MS Excel for tracking and reporting.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership capabilities to drive performance and accountability within the team.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field. MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification is an advantage.
