Business Head - E Waste
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the overall business strategy for the e-waste recycling vertical.
- Identify market opportunities, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
- Set and achieve annual business targets (volume, revenue, profitability).
- Ensure compliance with E-Waste Management Rules (e.g., CPCB/ SPCB guidelines).
Operations Management:
- Oversee entire e-waste recycling operations, including collection, transportation, dismantling, segregation, and disposal.
- Streamline supply chain and reverse logistics for cost-efficient waste collection and movement.
- Optimize plant layout, throughput, and recycling processes for high efficiency and minimal environmental impact.
- Manage plant safety, equipment maintenance, and capacity utilization.
Business Development & Partnerships:
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with OEMs, corporates, government bodies, and aggregators.
- Explore new B2B and B2C market segments for acquiring e-waste.
- Negotiate and close high-value contracts for sourcing and recycling services.
- Develop collection networks and tie-ups with bulk consumers (e.g., IT firms, telcos, manufacturers).
Compliance & Sustainability:
- Ensure adherence to environmental and regulatory standards (e.g., EPR, R2/ ISO 14001 certifications).
- Monitor and submit all required reports to pollution control boards and regulatory agencies.
- Lead the company's sustainability goals in alignment with ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles.
Team Leadership:
- Build and lead cross-functional teams - operations, business development, logistics, compliance, and technology.
- Drive a culture of performance, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Implement training and skill development programs for recycling plant workers and collection agents.
Financial Oversight:
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets, cost controls, and profitability analysis.
- Approve procurement of equipment, vehicles, and partnerships.
- Implement strategies to reduce operational costs and increase margins.
Technology & Innovation:
- Evaluate and deploy new technologies for material recovery (precious metals, plastics, etc.).
- Promote digitization of operations (e.g., tracking e-waste, vendor apps, dashboard reporting).
- Innovate in segregation techniques, automation, and circular economy models.
Public Relations & Advocacy:
- Represent the company at industry forums, government bodies, and conferences.
- Advocate for better policies and awareness around responsible e-waste management.
- Lead CSR initiatives around digital waste literacy and environment protection.
