ARAYMOND - Team Lead - Product Development

Role Overview

The Team Leader Product Development is a senior management role responsible for overseeing end-to-end new product development activities for North market customers. The position focuses on customer engagement, project governance, cost and quality control, standardization, compliance, and team management. The role plays a critical part in driving innovation, operational excellence, and alignment with ARaymonds business and sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Development Responsibilities:

- Oversee the design and development of new products and components for North market customers.

- Act as the primary contact for customer queries related to new product design, development feasibility, and technical clarifications.

- Facilitate and review new product feasibility studies, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, internal capabilities, and commercial objectives.

- Monitor and track quality, cost, and delivery timelines for all product development projects.

- Ensure all project documentation is completed and maintained in compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS).

- Drive continuous improvement and encourage the development of innovative product concepts and solutions.

2. Product Standardization & Market Competitiveness:

- Drive product feature standardization to improve efficiency, repeatability, and scalability.

- Conduct competitive benchmarking and analysis of competitor products to identify improvement opportunities.

- Support improvement of RFQ hit rates through optimized design proposals, competitive costing, and value-driven solutions.

- Ensure preparedness and compliance for customer audits related to product development activities for the North market.

3. Cost Monitoring & Control:

- Monitor and control costs associated with new product design and development initiatives.

- Evaluate alternative raw materials, design approaches, and process options to optimize cost while maintaining quality and performance.

- Support budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting for development projects.

4. Self & Team Development:

- Plan and manage daily and weekly work allocation for the product development team.

- Regularly review individual and team performance against defined objectives and deliverables.

- Identify technical, functional, and behavioral training needs to improve overall team efficiency.

- Drive team engagement and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

5. Information Security & Compliance (ISO 27001):

- Ensure awareness and adherence to applicable information security policies and procedures within the department.

- Maintain compliance with contractual and organizational information security requirements.

- Ensure all information handled by the team is adequately protected in line with ARaymonds information security standards.

- Report any suspected vulnerabilities, incidents, or non-compliance to the appropriate authorities.

- Promote information security awareness and support the deployment of the Information Security Management System (ISMS).

- Contribute to building a strong information securityconscious culture within the department.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelors degree in Engineering (BE / B.Tech) MBA is required.

- 8 to 10 years of experience in product development, design, or new product introduction roles.

- Proven experience managing teams and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.

- Exposure to customer-facing roles and international markets is preferred.
