
Position: ALM Solution Architect

As an ALM Solution Architect, you are responsible for designing, governing, and evolving robust, scalable, and secure Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) ecosystems aligned with Knorr-Bremses enterprise architecture standards. You define end-to-end solution architectures, integration patterns, migration approaches, and automation strategies for ALM platforms such as JAMA, IBM Jazz, and PTC Integrity, ensuring traceability, regulatory compliance, and engineering efficiency across the product lifecycle.
As a trusted advisor to the business, you also provide strategic consulting in ALM domains, partnering with engineering, product management, quality, and compliance teams to evaluate needs, improve processes, and define future-state ALM capabilities. Your role includes shaping the ALM roadmap, identifying optimization opportunities, and guiding business stakeholders through digital transformation and AI-driven modernization. Additionally, you drive the adoption of AI-enhanced engineering practices across SDLC, Requirements Management, Test Management, and Software Configuration Management (SCM), ensuring that AI tools are safely, responsibly, and effectively embedded into engineering workflows.
You will be expected to:
- Possess deep expertise in ALM disciplines, including requirements management, test management, configuration and change management, and AI-enhanced SDLC practices.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and evolving scalable ALM solution architectures - spanning traditional capabilities and emerging AI-driven workflows.
- Show practical experience integrating ALM platforms with enterprise systems, data services, and AI/analytics solutions.
- Exhibit strong proficiency in establishing monitoring, reporting, and observability frameworks for ALM environments, including AI-powered insights and predictive metrics.
- Demonstrate solid experience with ALM tool migrations, upgrades, consolidations, and data transformation initiatives.
- Provide leadership in cross-functional, multi-disciplinary environmentsconsulting with business stakeholders, guiding engineering teams, and driving alignment across process, architecture, and AI innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain ALM platforms (JAMA, IBM Jazz, PTC Integrity), including enterprise-specific customizations, AI-augmented capabilities, and standardized configurations that support scalable engineering processes.
- Define and implement end-to-end ALM solution architectures, ensuring seamless interoperability with enterprise applications, data platforms, and AI/analytics services.
- Collaborate with external service providers to ensure stable and efficient system operation and monitoring. Coordination of incidents, maintenance activities, and service delivery including overseeing vendor performance to ensure compliance with SLAs, security standards, and continuous service improvements.
- Develop, govern, and optimize integration strategies across the ALM toolchainincluding EA tools, GitHub/Subversion, CI/CD systems, and test management platformswhile incorporating AI-based automation and intelligent data flows.
- Establish governance frameworks, process workflows, templates, and standards that support consistency, compliance (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE, INCOSE), AI readiness, and end-to-end traceability.
- Ensure compliance and audit readiness by maintaining robust traceability, enforcing engineering standards, and applying AI-supported consistency and quality checks across development artifacts.
- Lead Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes for ALM-related enhancements, ensuring structured evaluations, risk assessments, and alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Organize and facilitate workshops with engineering, IT, and business teams to gather requirements, harmonize processes, and guide the adoption of ALM best practices and AI-enabled workflows.
- Drive cross-functional discussions to define lifecycle workflows, governance models, integration strategies, and data-flow architectures across the product development lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to implementation teams during ALM tool deployments, integrations, and AI capability rollouts.
- Oversee and collaborate with support teams, ensuring timely issue resolution, service quality, continuous improvement, and the introduction of predictive or AI-based support mechanisms.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in ALM consulting, solution architecture, and platform administration with tools such as JAMA, IBM Jazz, and PTC Integrity.
- Strong knowledge of requirements engineering, test management, configuration and change management, and emerging AI capabilities across the SDLC.
- Hands-on experience with ALM tool integrations, enterprise systems, DevOps pipelines, and automation frameworks (e.g., EA tools, JIRA, GitHub, Subversion).
- Experience designing or implementing AI-enabled enhancements within ALM areas (e.g., requirement generation & quality checks, test case generation, impact analysis) is a strong plus.
- Experience in ALM migrations, upgrades, data transformations, or platform consolidation is beneficial.
- Solid IT architecture, system integration, and API knowledge, with the ability to design robust, maintainable, and secure enterprise integrations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex system issues across multitool ALM landscapes.
- Strong communication, consulting, and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration with engineering, IT, and business units.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking, with the ability to design automated, scalable solutions for complex engineering and ALM challenges.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience:
- 12+ years of progressive experience in the ALM domain, covering solution architecture, consulting, platform administration, integrations, and automation at enterprise scale.
- Demonstrated track record of designing and leading ALM solution architectures, including AI-enabled enhancements, process modernization, and multi-tool ecosystem optimization.
- Proven experience executing complex system upgrades, patching, integrations, data migrations, and platform consolidations across ALM Tools such as JAMA, IBM Jazz, and PTC Integrity.
- Experience leading cross-functional and cross-disciplinary teams, driving alignment between engineering, IT, business stakeholders, and support functions.
- Strong history of delivering ALM consulting engagements, facilitating workshops, and guiding organizations through process transformation and AI-adoption initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
