Job Purpose: The Business Finance Head role exists to own and lead the strategic annual financial planning and analysis workstream for all entities/units of Apollo Knowledge. The individual will work closely with group CEO/CFO for financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for all entities at corporate level. Key Duties / Accountabilities: - Manages financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for all entities at corporate level. Works closely with group CEO/CFO. - Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement. - Creates variance analysis reports and financial models. - Leads real-time financial performance monitoring and escalates any financial issues to management. - Partner directly with the SBU/entity-level finance teams and other central FP&A groups to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews. - Dive deeply into financial data and become a subject matter expert to provide additional insights. - Work on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization. - Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made. - Sets and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives. - Completes market research and comparable company analysis. - Recommends strategies for increasing financial performance. - Presents detailed monthly financial reports to leadership. - Collaborates with senior members of the accounting and finance teams. Essential Skills: - Strong business acumen and expertise in mid-range, long-range planning, budgeting & forecasting. - Communicates effectively and has strong presentation skills. - Collaborates well with colleagues using adept social skills. - Works independently using project management skills. - Builds strong working relationships with cross-functional (sales/ operations/others) colleagues and has exceptional leadership skills. - Learns quickly and has strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. - General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles - Experience developing financial reports and metrics - Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels - Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment - Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills - Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture - Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication - Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization Essential Qualifications & Critical Experiences: - A Master's degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or a related major or equivalent professional experience is required. - MBA Finance is preferred (CA is not mandatory) and must have at least 12+ years of total experience out of which at least 6 to 8 of strong, relevant financial planning experience (post qualification). - Must have independently spearheaded at least 2 to 3 cycles of annual business planning for mid-large sized organizations (turnover of ~350 Cr or more with multiple/diverse lines of business/service).
