
Business Analyst - Pharma Category (2-4 yrs)
Role Overview:
The Business Analyst - Pharma Category will be responsible for building and maintaining analytical infrastructure to support data-driven decision making across Apollo Pharmacy's category operations. This role involves creating dynamic dashboards, automating reporting processes, and conducting deep-dive customer analytics to drive category growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dashboard Development & Automation:
- Dynamic Dashboard Creation: Develop interactive dashboards in Power BI and Google Sheets for real-time business monitoring and category performance at national, regional, cluster, and store levels
- Process Automation: Automate recurring reports and data workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Data Visualization: Design intuitive and actionable visualizations, especially on Geospatial analytics that enable quick decision-making by business teams
- Dashboard Maintenance: Ensure data accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve dashboard performance
2. Category Performance Analytics:
- Growth & margin analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of category performance across different dimensions (geography, time, customer segments, therapies)
- Competitive Intelligence: Monitor market share trends and competitive positioning through data analysis
- Promotional Impact: Measure effectiveness of promotional campaigns and initiatives through before/after analysis
- Trend Identification: Identify emerging trends, seasonal patterns, and growth opportunities within pharma categories
3. Inventory & Fill Rate Analytics:
- Inventory Performance: Monitor and analyze inventory levels, fill rates, stock-outs, and replenishment cycles across therapeutic categories to support inventory optimization decisions
- Demand Forecasting Support: Assist in demand planning through historical trend analysis and seasonality identification
4. Customer Analytics & Segmentation:
- Customer Segmentation: Apply clustering techniques to segment customers based on purchasing behavior, demographics, and engagement patterns
- Acquisition & Retention Analysis: Analyze customer retention rates, churn patterns, and lifetime value across different segments
- Behavioral Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis on customer purchasing patterns, frequency, and category preferences
- Cohort Analysis: Perform cohort-based analysis to understand customer journey and engagement evolution
- Predictive Modeling: Develop models to predict customer behavior, churn probability, and purchase propensity
5. Business Analytics Support:
- Root Cause Analysis & strategic support: Conduct detailed investigations into performance variations and business anomalies. Provide analytical insights to support strategic initiatives and business planning
- Strategic Support: Data Quality: Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all analytical outputs
- Stakeholder Reporting: Present findings and recommendations to various stakeholders in clear, actionable formats
Technical Requirements:
Core Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel: Expert-level proficiency in Excel including advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros, and VBA
- SQL Programming: Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis from databases
- Power BI: Proficiency in Power BI for dashboard creation, data modeling, and visualization
- Google Workspace: Advanced skills in Google Sheets, Big query, and other Google analytics tools
Data Science & Analytics:
- Data Science Techniques: Knowledge of clustering algorithms (K-means, hierarchical), segmentation methods, and classification techniques
- Machine Learning Basics: Familiarity with predictive modeling concepts, regression analysis, and data mining techniques
- Programming Knowledge: Basic knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics
Business Intelligence Tools:
- Data Modeling: Understanding of data warehouse concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling best practices
- Automation Tools: Knowledge of automation techniques for recurring reports and data workflows
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
1. Dashboard Delivery: Timely delivery of accurate dashboards and reports as per business requirements
2. Data Accuracy: Maintain >98% data accuracy across all analytical outputs and dashboards
3. Automation Efficiency: Automate 80% of recurring reports to reduce manual effort
4. Insight Quality: Provide actionable insights that lead to measurable business improvements
5. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance analytical efficiency
Required Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative field
- MBA or advanced degree in Analytics/Data Science is a plus
- Relevant certifications in Power BI, SQL, or data analytics tools preferred
Experience Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in business analytics, data analysis, or business intelligence roles
- Prior experience in retail, e-commerce, or healthcare analytics is a plus
- Experience with large datasets and complex business problems
- Track record of creating impactful dashboards and analytical solutions
