About the Role: They say no man is an island - a notion that holds particularly true for this role. As our Data Scientist, you will be making ambiguous decisions with models through various statistical techniques to help pilot our next steps forward. Your main objective will be to utilize various quantitative techniques, such as Machine Learning, Optimization, Simulation, and Bayesian Techniques, to drive asymmetric values for our business at Apollo 247. The folks over at the Business Side will be your companions during this ride, as they help to curate models for different use cases. Best yet, you'll have the opportunity to flex and hone in on your skills in ideation, research, and building prototypes! You will get to work on designing solutions for Growth teams, getting a deep understanding of customer behaviour. Roles and Responsibilities: - Take ownership of the ML model end-to-end - from data collection to model building to scaling out the prototype to very large datasets and building tools to monitor the model in production - Work with the engineering team to define best practices for ML model building, testing and deployment - Design and Analyse experiments - Perform exploratory data analysis using SQL and R/Python - Present interesting findings to business stakeholders to drive business and strategic decisions - Perform advanced analytics when needed - Solid understanding of the machine learning methods, models and related mathematics - Stochastic models, Bayesian Modelling, Classification Models, Cluster Analysis, Neural Network, Nonparametric Methods, Multivariate Statistics - Ability to understand business concerns and formulate them as technical problems that can be solved using data and ML - Prior experience with applied statistics, experimental design - Bonus points for prior experience with customer lifetime models, marketplace supply/demand or causal inference methods for campaign effectiveness - Proven ability to recognize business needs and ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders including PMs, business and operations - Balanced attention to detail
