SOX Compliance Analyst

The SOX Compliance Analyst will support the execution of the companys annual SOX 404 risk assessment and controls evaluation process in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. This role involves documenting, testing, and evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of internal financial controls and monitoring remediation efforts for deficiencies. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge in SOX compliance, excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, and strong technical expertise in accounting and internal control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare SOX 404 documentation, financial statement mapping, risk assessments, and process scoping

- Identify significant business units, locations, transaction cycles, and critical accounts

- Coordinate and support Internal Audit testing of key controls within assigned areas

- Assist management in designing and updating control documentation, including narratives, flowcharts, and risk and control matrices

- Identify and evaluate Entity-Level Controls (ELCs) and assess design and operational effectiveness

- Document and assess control gaps; monitor and report remediation efforts

- Ensure adherence to COSO 2013 framework, GAAP, and PCAOB standards (AS5, AS 2201, AS 2605)

- Liaise with external auditors and coordinate responses and evidence gathering

- Recommend and implement internal control improvements in financial and IT systems

- Participate in year-end audits and quarterly reviews

- Work on ad-hoc financial compliance projects requiring large data manipulation

- Provide support for system upgrades or implementations impacting financial controls

Qualifications:

- Bachelors or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance ; CPA or CPA candidate

- 3+ years of experience in general ledger accounting, external reporting, or internal audit

- Prior experience in SOX 404 compliance and public accounting required

- Solid understanding of GAAP, COSO, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud, Blackline, and Workiva

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) and Word
