About the Role

We are looking for a high-calibre professional to join the Credit Policy Group (CPG) of a leading rating agency. The role focuses on strengthening credit analysis through robust policy formulation, analytics, model validation, and governance oversight. This is a central, independent function that works closely with multiple credit rating / risk teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Review, update, and develop credit rating criteria in line with evolving market dynamics

- Ensure consistent application of criteria across analytical teams; identify gaps and misuse

- Develop user manuals, internal guidance notes, and training modules

- Perform data analytics, model development, and validation across portfolios

- Identify early warning signals and conduct credit vulnerability exercises

- Review selected credit ratings to support timely and accurate rating actions

- Collaborate with analytical, operations, and compliance teams on high-impact projects

- Support implementation of regulatory guidelines and handle regulatory inspections and audits

- Assist in development of new analytical frameworks / products through industry interaction

Desired Candidate Profile:

- 5-7 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in credit policy / credit risk / rating methodology

- Prior experience with a credit rating agency or bank/NBFC credit risk team preferred

- Strong understanding of credit rating methodologies and end-to-end rating process

- Excellent balance sheet and financial statement analysis skills

- Strong data handling capabilities; advanced Excel mandatory

- Working knowledge of Python / R and statistical techniques (e.g. regression) preferred

- Exposure to external databases such as Bloomberg, ACE Equity is an advantage

- Strong report writing and presentation (PowerPoint) skills
