Analyst/Senior Analyst - Accounting Policy - Big4/Audit Advisory - CA/CPA

Role Responsibilities:

Prepare accounting memorandums to evaluate various business transactions such as:

- Project acquisitions and sales

- Equity-based transactions and investments (including equity method investments)

- Funding re-sizings and reorganizations

- Joint ventures and intercompany transactions

Assess complex accounting areas, including:

- Business combinations

- Lease accounting

- Revenue recognition

- Debt classification and restructuring (modification vs extinguishment)

- Consolidation and embedded derivatives

- Sale-leaseback arrangements

- Transfers and servicing of financial assets

- Share-based payments

- Analyze new and upcoming accounting standards to determine their impact on business operations and reporting.

- Support periodic review and updates of internal accounting policies and assist in special accounting-related initiatives or projects.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to:

- Identify and resolve potential accounting issues early

- Propose practical and compliant solutions for proposed business deals

- Monitor business activity to ensure timely and accurate identification of relevant accounting and financial reporting matters.

- Prepare high-quality documentation for both internal stakeholders and external auditors.

- Participate in formal and informal discussions with the Controllership team to ensure accurate financial disclosures in company filings.

Requirements:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 0-2 years of experience in a Big 4 firm, preferably in audit or accounting advisory.

- Articleship from a Big 4 firm is mandatory.

- Strong technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), with a preference for candidates familiar with U.S. GAAP and FASB codification.

- Proven ability to analyze and communicate complex accounting matters clearly and concisely, tailored for both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

- Comfortable working independently and managing tasks with minimal supervision.

- Prior exposure to sectors such as Energy, Real Estate, or Financial Services is a plus.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
