The purpose of this role is to work with the Global COO team, supporting a range of day-to-day business management and risk, control and cost related tasks. The candidate will be expected to deliver a range of tasks which:  1. Provide operational support to manage the smooth functioning of the Research department, including:  - Partnering with Research COOs across regions assisting with day-to-day duties and projects  - Maintaining and analyzing cost and headcount information and producing reports for relevant stakeholders  - Updating and analyzing various databases and distribution lists maintained by the team  - Gathering and analyzing relevant data, maintaining trackers and presenting findings to internal clients.  - Producing Management Information packs for Research Executive Committee meetings and other Senior Management meetings  2. Help us manage the risk and controls framework for the department, including:  - Conducting and managing the execution of risks and controls   - Ensuring that Research maintains a strong system of internal control and complies with the requirements of the relevant policies and standards  - Preparing for audits, risk reviews and regulatory inspections or reviews, and ensuring any findings are understood, mitigating actions are appropriate and deliverables are achievable within the agreed timescales  - Running periodic checks and liaising with analysts to monitor and record compliance with Research policies  - Producing regular and adhoc management information and exception reports  Experience required:   - Very strong data/analytical and Excel skills to be able to execute data and reporting requests. Good knowledge of pivot tables and vlookup to query, integrate and aggregate data.  - Strong knowledge of databases (MS access) and VBA  - Experience of organizing, restructuring and/or automating tasks to make processes more efficient   - Ability to present data results in a visual, user-friendly format for the intended audience.  - Experience in a business management role, including updating management presentations, tracking costs and headcount, managing risk and controls, etc  Personal Requirements:  - This position sits within the Research Management and Planning (COO) team providing global support to Research COOs, and therefore requires someone who can effectively communicate and operate with teams across the organization, in multiple locations and time zones.  - Focus - Strong attention to detail and accuracy  - Independent - ability to work independently on tasks without direct supervision since most team members are located elsewhere  - Diligence: Ability to carry out detailed tasks with diligence (as per timelines)   - Teamwork - work within a team environment both locally and across different time zones  - Analysis - ability to think through problems and issues and put forward practical solutions  - Commercial and risk awareness - understand the commercial and regulatory environment in which we operate and ensure risks are appropriately managed and escalated  - Time management - effective time management to ensure tasks are completed within agreed timescales and deadlines  - Initiative/self motivation - act on own initiative, identify opportunities and be proactive in putting forward ideas and solutions  - Flexibility - to adapt successfully to changing situations and environments
