Job Description:


We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Senior Specialist with 10+ years of dedicated experience in Import and Export activities within India. This individual contributor role requires a deep understanding of Indian Customs laws, EoU (Export Oriented Unit) regulations, Production linked incentive scheme and GST compliance. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong leadership qualities to effectively coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Import & Export Operations:

- Oversee and manage all aspects of import and export operations, ensuring smooth and compliant movement of goods.

- Thorough knowledge and practical application of Indian Customs laws, regulations, and procedures for various types of imports and exports (e.g., SEZ, DTA, re-exports, etc.).

- Ensure compliance with all pre-shipment and post-shipment documentation requirements.

- Manage and maintain accurate records of all import and export transactions, including

relevant data for audit and reporting purposes.

- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to ensure

timely and efficient clearances.

- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks related to import and export compliance.

EoU Compliance & Returns:

- Serve as the primary expert on all EoU-related compliances and regulations.

- Ensure strict adherence to all EoU conditions, including bonding, warehousing, and utilization norms.

- Prepare and file all mandated monthly, quarterly, and annual returns specific to EoU operations (e.g., Softex, QPR, APR, etc.).

- Maintain comprehensive records and documentation as required by EoU regulations.

- Liaise effectively with Customs and other government authorities for EoU-related matters, including audits and assessments.

GST Compliance & Audit:

- Possess a thorough understanding of India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) laws and regulations.

- Reconcile GST data with financial records and identify any discrepancies.

- Prepare and file GST returns accurately and timely, including:

- Monthly Returns: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-5, GSTR-5A, GSTR-6, GSTR-7, GSTR-8

- Quarterly Returns: CMP-08, GSTR-1, GSTR-3B (under QRMP scheme)

- Annual Returns: GSTR-9, GSTR-9C

- Actively participate in and support GST audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

- Stay updated on the latest GST amendments and their implications.

Government Incentives Compliance:

- Manage compliance for various government incentives such as:

- Export Incentive Schemes: Handle compliance for schemes like Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) and Rebate of Duties & Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP)

- Other Incentives: Monitor and comply with any additional incentives announced in the Union Budget or other government policies

Stakeholder Coordination & Leadership:

- Collaborate effectively with internal teams such as Finance, Supply Chain, Production, and Legal to ensure seamless operations and compliance.

- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities in guiding and influencing cross-functional teams on trade compliance matters.

- Communicate complex regulatory information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.

- Represent the company in discussions with Customs, DGFT, GST authorities, and other relevant government bodies

Qualifications:

- CA/MBA/Bachelor of Commerce, Law, or a related field.

- Minimum of 7-12 years of progressive experience in import and export activities

- Mandatory: Proven experience working in an Export Oriented Unit (EoU) with a comprehensive understanding of EoU compliances and returns.

- Mandatory: In-depth knowledge of Indian Customs Act, Customs Tariff Act, Foreign Trade Policy, and other relevant trade regulations.

- Mandatory: Strong knowledge of India GST laws, regulations, returns, and audit procedures.

- Proficiency in using customs software/portals and other relevant IT tools.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
