Position Overview
The Deputy Manager Product Marketing (Oncology) will be responsible for driving strategic brand initiatives, developing robust marketing plans, and ensuring the commercial success of oncology brands.
The role demands strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to execute marketing programs that enhance brand performance and market share within the oncology segment.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement annual and long-term brand plans with clear objectives, KPIs, and growth strategies.
- Conduct competitive landscape analysis and identify opportunities for differentiation and value creation.
- Align brand objectives with overall oncology business goals and organizational priorities.
Portfolio & Lifecycle Management
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from pre-launch to maturity and post-patent stages.
- Drive lifecycle extension strategies, including line extensions, new indications, and reformulations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of brand plans.
Market Insights & Business Analytics
- Analyze market trends, sales data, and competitive intelligence to optimize marketing strategies.
- Conduct physician and patient research to identify unmet needs and refine value propositions.
- Leverage business analytics to track performance, measure ROI, and recommend corrective actions.
Stakeholder & KOL Engagement
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key oncologists, opinion leaders, and medical societies.
- Support scientific exchange through CMEs, advisory boards, and medical education initiatives.
- Collaborate with medical affairs to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance in communications.
Promotional Excellence & Campaign Execution
- Conceptualize and execute innovative, multi-channel promotional campaigns across digital, in-clinic, and scientific platforms.
- Manage creative and media agencies to ensure impactful brand communication.
- Maintain high standards of compliance with medical, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the sales force to ensure flawless field execution of marketing strategies.
- Provide training, marketing tools, and scientific updates to empower sales teams.
- Conduct regular field visits to assess campaign effectiveness and gather customer feedback.
Financial & Operational Management
- Manage brand promotional budgets efficiently with focus on ROI and cost optimization.
- Track financial performance and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related discipline (mandatory).
- MBA in Marketing from a reputed B-School preferred.
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Product Management within the Pharmaceutical or Oncology segment.
- Experience in other specialty therapy areas may also be considered.
- Prior exposure to MNC pharma environments is highly desirable
