Job Overview
The Assistant Manager Warehouse & Distribution is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of warehouse operations, including receipt, storage, dispensing, and dispatch of materials.
This role ensures compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and safety protocols while optimizing inventory control and supporting production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Plan, procure, and control inventories of raw materials, packaging materials, and other supplies in line with production needs.
- Coordinate with the Purchase and Quality Control departments to ensure timely availability and release of materials.
- Monitor receipt, storage, and issuance of materials as per defined SOPs, MSDS, and safety
guidelines.
- Oversee proper return or destruction of rejected materials, ensuring compliance with SOPs and safety requirements.
- Maintain environmental conditions of storage and dispensing areas as per SOPs.
- Ensure weighing balances and other equipment are verified, calibrated, and maintained per SOP.
- Maintain departmental inventory effectively and assist in raising material/service indents and Capex proposals.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to cGMP, SOPs, and safety protocols during warehouse operations.
- Prepare and submit MIS and other reports as required.
- Verify and maintain integrity of cGMP and statutory records.
- Lead and coordinate change controls, deviations, and ensure timely closure.
- Represent the department during audits and ensure prompt compliance with audit observations.
Collaboration & Support
- Coordinate with the Engineering department for preventive maintenance and calibration of warehouse equipment.
- Assist in preparation and execution of equipment qualification protocols, temperature mapping, and other validation studies.
- Ensure timely dispatch of finished goods to customers with complete and accurate documentation.
Professional Development & Continuous Improvement
- Support initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency, safety, and compliance.
Experience:
- 10-12 years of relevant experience in warehouse and distribution, preferably in pharmaceutical or regulated industries.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, SOPs, and warehouse compliance systems
- Proficiency in documentation, data review, and statistical analysis
- Effective communication and coordination skills across departments
- Leadership and team management capabilities
