Department / Role Overview: Merchant Banking - Asset Liability Management

The Amherst Merchant Banking business unit oversees investment management activities for Amherst, including the raising of new debt and equity capital, the formation of new ventures, the strategic acquisition and disposition of homes and the management and operation of Amherst's portfolio investments. The Merchant Banking business unit collaborates closely with the other Amherst business units, including the Development and Operator business units, as part of the fully integrated Amherst platform.

The Amherst Merchant Banking division is seeking to expand it's global footprint in Mumbai, India, with a goal of establishing a team of professionals working across multi-disciplinary functional areas in close collaboration with U.S.-based personnel.

The Role is within the Amherst's Merchant Banking Division in the Asset Liability Management ("ALM") group. ALM is seeking a strong analyst to join our team to assist in ensuring the required data, documentation and tapes for our warehouse and JV debt facilities are accurate. Strong team player who can monitor and track the performance of all debt facilities against the covenants and other limits/thresholds. This analyst needs to have strong communication skills to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to flag any data related issues, covenant related issues/breaches etc.

Job Description (Primary Responsibilities):

- Preparation and maintenance of Amherst lender reporting requirements- Work with internal business unit leadership and business development functions to analyze lender reporting tapes to support the group's requirements.

- Management of collateral for warehouse facilities (onboarding newly acquired homes, shifting or movement of collateral between lines, etc.)

- Provide real-time portfolio and facility level dashboard updates across the SFR platform.

- Interpretation and correct calculation of debt covenants & lending limits for Amherst warehouse facilities. Monitoring and maintenance of compliance with all covenant-related limits. Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly reports in a timely manner.

- Maintain data for various debt facilities and other ad-hoc projects.

- Document and research discrepancies between actual and system generated data.

- Collaborate with the ALM US team to define key projects and initiatives. Coordinate with the diligence agent & Closings team to ensure requisite documentation.

- Maintain and update ALM team's policies and procedures as required.

- Work with DCM, Legal and Valuations (broker pricing opinions) functions as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Education: bachelor's degree and MBA/ CA/ CFA with financial markets understanding a plus

- Relevant Experience: 3-6 years of prior experience in US markets in Credit monitoring, collateral management, securitization, Banking/ Financial Services and/or Real Estate firm preferred.

- Intermediate skills in MS Office Excel.

- Intermediate/Advanced skills in MS Office Excel. Prior experience in using PowerPoint, Yardi and Salesforce preferred.
