Director, Commercial Analytics

Obesity Intelligence & Analytics | Amgen India

Reports to: Executive Director, Obesity Intelligence & Analytics

Role Summary:

This is an India-based global leadership role supporting Amgen's global obesity business, with significant focus on the U.S. market. The role builds the commercial analytics capability that informs strategy, sales execution, customer engagement, payer/pricing decisions, and growth priorities.

The mandate is to turn ambiguous questions into clear choices. Working with global commercial leaders and U.S. stakeholders, this leader converts business needs into scalable analysis, decision frameworks, and reusable insight products that help leaders allocate resources, identify execution gaps, and act with confidence.

Success requires sound commercial judgment, clear executive communication, and a strong understanding of U.S. pharmaceutical selling models, field dynamics, HCP and account engagement, and the data ecosystems used to guide commercialization. The Director will build and continuously strengthen an India-based commercial analytics capability recognized by global commercial leaders for trusted judgment, execution excellence, measurable business impact, and the ability to anticipate evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Set the commercial analytics agenda for obesity, including roadmap, delivery priorities, and senior decision forums.

- Turn product, field, account, payer/pricing, and U.S. stakeholder questions into pragmatic analytical plans and usable decision assets.

- Bring discipline to intake, prioritization, quality, governance, and execution without creating unnecessary process burden.

- Surface risks, options, and trade-offs early, backed by evidence and grounded in commercial reality.

- Raise the standard for reusable methods, continuously evolve how the function works, and build capabilities that improve over time as business needs change.

- Shape analysis that informs product strategy, commercialization readiness, lifecycle planning, and in-market action.

- Track the competitive landscape, treatment environment, access/pricing shifts, HCP behavior, and external signals, with strong attention to U.S. dynamics.

- Lead analysis for field sizing, customer segmentation, HCP/account engagement, and field execution.

- Develop predictive models, scenario simulations, segmentation approaches, and driver analyses to answer high-value business questions.

- Own the commercial analytics operating model for domain intake, prioritization, standards, delivery cadence, quality, and adoption.

- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing India-based team of analytics professionals.

Basic Qualifications:

- Doctorate degree OR Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree and 18+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Advanced degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, Life Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.

- Substantial experience in commercial analytics, strategic insights, consulting, or related functions within pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences.

- Depth across product/brand strategy, launch analytics, sales force effectiveness, HCP/account analytics, payer/pricing analysis, commercial measurement, and executive insight translation.

- Experience supporting U.S. or global launches and growth assets in competitive, rapidly evolving therapeutic categories.

- Strong understanding of U.S. pharmaceutical commercialization, selling models, field execution, stakeholder prioritization, and healthcare ecosystem dynamics.

- Proven ability to translate complex analysis into recommendations that influence senior stakeholders and action planning.

- Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and ability to balance practical delivery with high-quality analytical standards in a global environment.
