<p>Job Description :<div><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities :&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The VP, Lead Financial Officer (-  LFO-  ) will play a key role in leading project-based business decision support; financial planning and forecasting; investment management and analysis; and recurring monthly results tracking and reporting for the India market. The position will also act as designated CFO for American Express Banking Corporation as required by the RBI and will responsible for Legal Entity Governance working closely with the controllership team.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>While this position will primarily focus on the GCSG line of business, it will also help oversee the finance needs of other Blue Box lines of business including Global Commercial Services (-  GCS-  ) and Global Merchant and Network Services (-  GMNS-  ), such that he/she can represent the full enterprise-level view of the Company's businesses in India as required by the Winning Country-by-Country framework.<br></p><p><br></p>The successful candidate will actively engage business partners and work across cross-functional teams to analyze, derive and communicate valuable product and market-related analysis and insights. Further, by leveraging his/her financial knowledge, this candidate will help formulate the key strategies and make recommendations on how to best drive American Express-   growth and profitability in India.</div><div><p>&nbsp; </p>All of the work done with and through a team of five colleagues with key responsibilities of the candidate being to develop the team including data analytics and coding skills, managing work flows to ensure effective balance and building effective culture of feedback to drive agility.</div><div><p>&nbsp; </p>- Business Decision Support : Partner with the various GMs and other key constituents across the Blue Box organization (e.g. Business Development, Product Management, Marketing, Acquisitions, Risk Management, Controllership). Provide senior management with timely finance-related analysis and recommendations across a range of critical business decisions.</div><div><p>&nbsp; </p>- Planning &amp; Forecasting : Serve as a key local contact for the centralized BU FP&amp;A and IO teams while driving the business forecasting process. Gather firsthand inputs from business partners to more accurately project future business performance and guide forecasts based on current trends, risks and opportunities. Use cardmember level data to go behind the averages identifying early trends or sub segment insights.</div><div><p>&nbsp; </p>- Results Tracking &amp; Reporting : Provide detailed analysis and supporting commentary on actuals vs. budget variances. Examine monthly results and P&amp;L outcomes and further communicate business performance and inform senior management on financial reporting data.</div><div><p>&nbsp; </p>- Investment Analysis &amp; Optimization : Assess organic and inorganic growth opportunities and initiatives to maximize returns on the Company's investment funding. Partner closely with general managers holding investment budgets to ensure deployment of funds are in line with expected risk and return objectives. Develop analytical tools and scenario-based models to assess the financial return on these investments. <br><br></div><div><p>- Legal Entity Governance : Represent the Company and play a crucial role in the governance and oversight of American Express Banking Corp (-  AEBC-  ) at both the local brand and HQ levels. Participate in regular Board meetings and committees including Credit Policy committee, ALCO committee, Audit committee, and others.
