The Merchant Financing product is a innovative commercial loan product offered to select Small and Medium sized American Express merchants. The program provides merchants with an alternative source of funding at competitive rates. As a leader of the Merchant financing team the incumbent would be responsible for Asset management analytics as well as merchant under-writing.   The Asset Management Analytics team is responsible for monitoring the Merchant Financing portfolio, developing policies and procedures for best in class strategies to ensure healthy amortization of the merchant base. The team is responsible for analyzing the effectiveness of existing procedures and alerts.   These policies and procedures directly impact business profitability by ensuring loss avoidance through monitoring and immediate actioning. The loan under-writing group would be responsible for end to end execution of effective under-writing strategies and policies Leading a team of 3 individuals, the incumbent will be responsible for developing Risk Management recommendations to drive profitable growth for the Merchant Financing business. As part of the Asset Management team the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring loan performance and industry news for leading Risk Triggers.   The candidate will work with merchants to mitigate exposure by negotiating and finding win-win solutions. Furthermore, the candidate will have an opportunity to present results to senior leadership and contribute to the risk management strategy of the product. Finally, the candidate will also be responsible for developing and deploying new collections strategies, customer treatment tools and capabilities.   Primary Responsibilities Include:   - Measurement the effective of Account Management policies, procedures and triggers; Leveraging Internal (Merchant And Cross Business Unit) And Bureau Based Information To Effectively Control Credit Risk During The Tenure Of The Loan To The Merchant   - Effective Monitoring Of Loan And Loan Servicing Processes Including The Design Of Standardized And Automated Control Processes   - Execution Of Effective Underwriting Policies And Strategies, Leveraging Financials Based Decision And Maximizing Use Of All Available Information Across American Express   - Undertake Financials Based Underwriting Decision Leveraging Profit And Loss Statement Analysis, Balance Sheet Analysis And Bank Statements  Qualification:  - Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of highly skilled econometricians, business and data analysts in developing information-driven solutions for our customers.   - Experience working in highly cross-functional environment, flexibility and adaptability to work with tight deadlines and changing priorities   - Demonstrated passion for customers and clients, and for creating a consistently superior customer experience   - Ability to understand data, synthesize into real-world meaning, break down business problems, and conduct brainstorming.   - Relevant statistical analysis/econometric experience required and able to effectively translate analytical findings to business implications   - Knowledge of financial analysis, CFA/Tier 1 Post graduates
