Position Description : Direct Tax Compliances - Preparation and filing the income tax return, MAT certificate including various schedules and other information required for the income tax return. - Prepare of quarterly advance tax computations, and ensuring deposit thereof. - Preparation of computations of tax provisions, deferred tax and return to close and updating the same of the corporate tax system on monthly,. - Provide assistance in preparation and completing compliance requirements for tax audit i.e. preparation of various schedules and other information required for Tax audit report, generating xml and uploading / filing the tax audit report on the income tax portal. - Provide assistance in preparation and completing compliance requirements for transfer pricing audit i.e. preparation of various schedules and other information required for Transfer pricing audit report, generating xml and uploading / filing the transfer pricing report on the income tax portal. - Liaising with the Income tax authorities for proceedings before them which would include collation of data, preparation of submissions, responses, appeals, rectification applications, etc in connection with scrutiny/ assessment / audit undertaken by Indian tax authorities and appellate authorities, in relation to each of the tax matters as and when they arise. - Provide support on any tax queries raised during statutory audits or any other audits. Indirect Tax Compliances - Ensure key compliances for GST. - Prepare and review GST returns. - Ensure all local tax calculations and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time for Indirect Taxes. - Liaise with market finance staff in obtaining information to satisfy information requests from Tax authorities in India. - Review of tax accruals and provisions on a monthly basis. Also ensuring that the payments are made on time and the relevant entries are booked in the ledgers. - Prepare and review quarterly GST refund claims and ensure timely fillings with the tax department. Tax advisory related services - Understanding impact in relation to changes in any other statute and/or regulations applicable to Amex and work getting the same implemented. - To provide tax advice with respect to any change, re-organization, restructuring of the entity or business including merger, amalgamation of the whole or any part of the business of the Customer - Review agreements - Evaluate tax implications of new products/ services developed, new processes to be migrated, all new initiatives by the businesses which have relevance from a tax perspective. This role may be subject to additional background verification checks. Qualifications Education: - Candidate should hold a Chartered Accountant qualification and have thorough understanding of accounting and tax compliance principles. Experience: - Minimum of 3 to 4 years of work experience in a finance consulting or in-house environment. Preferably big four. - Corporate tax / Service tax / GST experience essential. Software: - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word. - Experience of Microsoft SharePoint will be advantageous . Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Strong analytical skills. - Ability to manage competing demands and execute assigned tasks quickly and accurately. - Strong ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing. - Experience of working remotely within a larger MNE. - A understanding and knowledge of American Express - Project Management / Processes governance experience.
