Chief Executive Officer:

The CEO will hold complete P&L ownership and operational command of the Amba Shakti Steel plant at Gwalior, driving strategy, production, commercial performance, and profitability. This is a senior leadership role responsible for translating the MD's vision into an executable business plan, running the plant as an independent profit centre, and delivering sustainable growth in volume, EBITDA, and market share.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy & Business Leadership:

- Define and execute the plant's short, medium and long term business strategy in alignment with the MD's overall vision and group objectives.

- Conduct market, competition and industry analysis (steel - TMT - long products) to identify growth opportunities, new markets and product diversification.

- Drive capacity expansion, modernization and capital expenditure planning in consultation with the MD.

- Represent the company with key external stakeholders - government bodies, industry associations, raw material suppliers, financial institutions and large customers.

2. P&L Ownership & Profitability:

- Own the plant's full Profit & Loss statement; deliver budgeted revenue, EBITDA and net profitability targets.

- Drive monthly, quarterly business reviews with variance analysis against budget and prior year.

- Ensure disciplined working capital management - inventory, receivables, payables - to optimize cash flow.

- Evaluate pricing strategy, product mix and margin optimization across product lines (billets, TMT bars, etc.).

3. Production & Operations Management:

- Oversee end to end manufacturing operations - melting, rolling and finishing - ensuring optimum capacity utilization.

- Drive productivity improvement initiatives: yield enhancement, energy efficiency, downtime reduction and OEE improvement.

- Ensure plant operations comply with safety, environmental and statutory regulatory norms (Pollution Control Board, Factory Act, etc.).

- Champion Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (Kaizen) practices.

- Monitor and improve key production KPIs: tonnage output, specific energy consumption, conversion cost, rejection, rework rates.

4. Cost Optimization:

- Drive plant wide cost reduction programs across raw materials, power & fuel, consumables, manpower and logistics.

- Lead raw material procurement strategy (scrap, sponge iron, pig iron) in coordination with the commercial procurement team to optimize input costs.

- Benchmark cost structures against industry best practices and competitor plants.

- Implement cost control systems, budgetary controls and cost per ton tracking mechanisms.

5. Commercial & Sales:

- Oversee sales and marketing strategy for finished products, ensuring targeted volume offtake and realization.

- Strengthen dealer, distributor network and channel management; explore new geographies and customer segments.

- Monitor receivables, credit control and commercial risk management.

- Align production planning with sales forecasts and market demand.

6. Team Leadership & Organization Building:

- Lead, mentor and build a strong second line of leadership across Production, Commercial, Finance, HR and Quality functions.

- Drive a high performance culture with clear KRAs, KPIs, performance management and talent development.

- Ensure robust industrial relations and a stable, motivated workforce.

7. Governance & Reporting:

- Provide the MD with regular, transparent reporting on operational and financial performance, risks and mitigation plans.

- Ensure adherence to statutory compliance, internal controls and corporate governance standards.

- Drive digitalization, ERP based systems for real time visibility into production, inventory and finance.

Candidate Profile:

Education:

- B.E. or B.Tech in Metallurgy, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (mandatory).

- MBA or PG Diploma in Management (preferred).

Experience:

- 18 to 25 years in the steel or metals manufacturing industry, with at least 5 to 7 years in a CEO, Plant Head or Unit Head role with full P&L responsibility.

- Strong background in integrated steel plants (induction furnace, EAF, rolling mills) preferred.

- Proven track record of turnaround, cost optimization and EBITDA improvement.
